Alto Adige - Südtirol

South Tyrol, Alto Adige in Italian, is a former Austrian district. After WWI, in 1919, Italy came out on the winner side, they conquered South Tyrol. South Tyrol and the neighbor region Trentino gained their autonomy as German speaking minority in Italy in the 60ties.

This lead to a more individual government of the region, which developed more efficient and tourism oriented infrastructures and was able to pick from each Austrian and Italian culture its best sides. The Germanic precision and efficiency mixed to the Italian warmth, outstanding food and easygoing way of life (Bella Vita). South Tyrol’s raised to one of the liveliest and most complete regions of Europe. The high standards of life, tourism offer, infrastructures, the nearly inexistent criminality and the big choice of different locations like mountains, lakes, cities, landscapes are south tyrols strengths. Also a wide range of local products like the smoked ham called speck, the outstanding wines, the flashing apples are world known local products. South Tyrol offers many place worth to be seen.

The particular highlight are the Dolomites with Val Gardena Gröden valley and its amazing ski resort called Dolomiti Superski.

The strategical location of South Tyrol  not only for commerce, but also for tourism, brings as result that it is a corner of paradise, still easy to reach and which offers a good starting position for every kind of destination. For example, the Adriatic Sea, only a few hours’ drive away, Milan, Garda Lake, Munich, Switzerland and Austria, so it is a must for Italy and Europe travels.
